Rhinoplasty or nose reconstruction surgery enhances the appearance of the nose. In addition, the procedure repairs nasal fractures to restore the pre-injury appearance of the nose. During the procedure, Dr. Michael K.Obeng modifies the nasal cartilages and bone. Lastly, he adds tissue to improve the visual appeal of the nose.
How We Do It
Dr. Michael K. Obeng will sculpt your nose to your desired shape. Sometimes, this procedure may take last about 1 to 2 hours, depending on the patient.
There are two ways to perform nose reconstruction surgery: closed rhinoplasty (surgery is done through the nostrils so there are no external scars) and open rhinoplasty (the surgeon makes an incision at the base of the columella, the strut of tissue between the nostrils, and elevates the skin off of the cartilages).
What Rhinoplasty can Treat
- Nose size in relation with harmonious balance to your face
- Enlarged, droopy nose tips
- Straightens crookedness along the bridge of your nose
- Health-related issues such as breathing difficulties
- Wide, upturned nostrils

During recovery, your nose will be tender and swelling may occur. To address this, Dr.Michael K.Obeng will prescribe medication to help you have a safe and comfortable recovery. Eventually, as swelling subsides, you will be able to notice the effect of your new nose. Commonly, the full effect of rhinoplasty takes about a year to develop.
