Hemorrhoid Surgery

Hemorrhoid Surgery

There are many non-invasive practices to treat Hemorrhoids, such as diets, lasers, and over the counter medications, but when these methods don’t work, one may need to explore invasive options. Hemorrhoid surgery is safe and most effective for lasting – long term results.

HOW WE DO HEMORRHOID SURGERY

WHAT IS A HEMORRHOID SURGERY ?

Surgery to remove hemorrhoids is called hemorrhoidectomy. There are several methods to a hemorrhoidectomy. The following are Hemorrhoid procedures that we perform at MiKO Plastic Surgery.

Hemorrhoidectomy

Dr. Michael K. Obeng will make small cuts around the anus to slice them away.

You may get local anesthesia (the area operated on is numb, and you’re awake though relaxed) or general anesthesia ( put to sleep). Hemorrhoidectomy is an outpatient procedure, and you can usually go home the same day.

Prolapse and Hemorrhoids (PPH)

PPH is also called a stapled hemorrhoidectomy. Dr. Michael K. Obeng will use a stapler to reposition the hemorrhoids and cut off their blood supply. Without blood, they’ll eventually die.

This procedure moves the hemorrhoid to where there are fewer nerves. Therefore, the pain is less, and recovery is faster with fewer complications than an original hemorrhoidectomy.

Hemorrhoidal Artery Ligation and Recto Anal Repair (HAL-RAR)

Hemorrhoidal Artery Ligation and Recto Anal Repair (HAL-RAR) identifies the arteries supplying the hemorrhoids, and Dr. Michael K. Obeng can tie them to cut off the blood supply. The hemorrhoids are reduced immediately and within weeks, are no longer noticeable. The procedure is effective and virtually painless.

EXCEPTIONAL RESULTS

Pain is the most common complaint, especially when you’re pooping. You can take over-the-counter pain relievers, such as acetaminophen, aspirin, or ibuprofen, if Dr. Michael K. Obeng provides his recommendation. Soaking in a warm bath may help, too. Stool softeners can make it easier to poop.
